Freedom to Choose

Freedom to Choose:

Is there someone you know that is unsure about sending their kids to camp? Not only can you share notes likes this with them, but share your experiences as well!

We all know that our kids need a little bit of freedom in order to grow, but why now? Can’t it wait a couple of years? For some parents, it is heartbreaking to let your kids leave the nest, even if it’s just for a week. Will they be okay, will they be looked after? We sat down with a few parents and asked them about their concerns and expectations in sending their kids to camp. We found that parents are looking for a safe atmosphere where their kids can find a sense of accomplishment and responsibility.

The freedom that BaYouCa provides is the perfect place for this. Your kids will be watched over 24 hours a day, but are still able to make decisions on their own like choosing to take part in cabin cleanup, what to eat, what to wear, how to behave, etc. These small things are big things for them, because they have to make a decision without their parent’s guidance. They get to practice the things that their parents have taught them and build confidence in themselves. So, why is now a good time to send your kid’s to camp? Because building a base for growth now is going to help them significantly in the future. One parent in our study stated her struggle in sending her daughter to camp in this way, “I just needed to step out in faith”.

Now we would like to hear from you! What opportunities did you have in your youth that helped you become who you are today?

Watch for another note every week! Next week: Freedom to Express
